From The Field Lab, it’s an easy drive to Big Bend National and State Parks for canyons, river views, and desert hiking; Terlingua Ghost Town and its famous chili cook‑offs; Lajitas along the Rio Grande; and Presidio for scenic borderlands. Nearby Marfa adds its mysterious lights and contemporary art scene, while the McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis offers some of the best stargazing in North America.
